It has been a rough week. Instead of my usual weekly post, I decided to forgo my blog writing due to the US holiday weekend. Last Thursday was Thanksgiving in the United States, what my fiancé and I like to call Indigenous Genocide Day for what should be obvious reasons. What was meant to be a nice, relaxing five-day weekend turned into a night at the emergency room, an extended stay at my in-laws’ house while my fiancé waits to have his gallbladder removed, and our usual gluttony tempered because one of our favorite indulgences now causes him pain.

So, yeah, I didn’t write last week.

This week, I’m working on getting back on schedule. Expect to see my usual blog post on Friday!
